Spiral Restaurant of Sofitel Philippine Plaza

We were able to borrow a Philippine Plaza card, which basically gives the bearer of the card 50% off the food bill which cost PHP 1200/head without the discount.

So off we went to this much talked about Spiral at Philippine Plaza(formerly Westin Philippine Plaza) of Sofitel. The hotel is located at CCP Complex and was newly renovated and opened middle of this year. It has many buffet station catering Meditteranian, Korean, Chinese,Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, American, Italian, Indian and many more.

Lobby Entrace of Spiral

Signage in Floral Design

Chinese droplight lamps covered with silkcreened fabrics with floral and leafy designs.

Table for 4. Their utensils especially the knives, are very different from others .
the water glass green design is just right.

Chinese Dimsum Station

BBQ Station

Bread Station

Cheese Station

Dessert Station - Crepes, creme brulles, crepes, "halo halo"[a filipino dessert with crushed ice, sweetend beans & fruits, tapiocca, leche flan, jelly, ube, ice cream, milk and lots more, really delicious] cookies, many kinds of cake, ice cream, fruits and many many more.

Japanese Station

Vegetarian Station

Indian Station

Seafood Station - Crabs, Mussels and Oysters

For The Dinner I started with :

Dimsum : Chicken feet, Siomain ..

Then some Asado, BBQ and Beef

Then I had the green tea soba with a half-poached egg and a veggie tempura topping.

Then some tempura which is quite right.

Then some Salmon sashimi, Raw Oyster, Tuna

I tried the different kind of cheese which I did't like at all

This is my favorite Ice cream and etc..

Anyway, I tried almost all cuisines, and felt a little "sad" when I wasn't able to try on some Mongolian food. My gastronomic exercise ended with me eating about 2 big cups of ice cream. This is really one of the best hotel buffet to date. With their juicy and succulent lamb chops and tasty chinese food, fresh and yummy sushies, wide variety of desserts! Spiral is really a winner.

Dining at The Spiral, you'll even get the chance to see the beautiful sunset if you would choose to stay for a while after lunch or walk at the pool area or have some appetizer befor going to dinner.

Kitaro Sushi at Walter

While doing your shopping at Waltermart Makati, you may want to try Kitaro Sushi, one of the leading japanese restaurants in the Philippines. Just last week we went for a dinner at Kitaro and tried Tofu Steku, breaded tofu with sauce of mixed vegetables and shitake mushroom P91, Nasu Tori Teriyaki, a combination of eggplant and chicken strips drenched in tasty teriyaki sauce P120, Miso Soup P37, Fried Rice P47, for drinks we had a pot of hot tea.

I simply love the tofu, which is very compatible with my friend rice. The ambience is and food is simply good. If you are looking for affordable rice meals you may also order Tofu Steku Rice (2pcs. bread tofu with vegetable and mushroom sauce and steamed rice) P98, Gyoza Fried Rice (2pcs Gyoza and Japanese Fried Rice) P98, Omu Beef Rice (Omelette stuffed with rice ground beef shitake mushroom, carrots, bell pepper, onion and nori sauteed in special omu sauce.

Alex III

For our Sunday dinner we went to Alex 3 along Morato, Alex 3 is almost similar to Aristocrat's ambience. Alex 3 has a perfect blend of exceptional food with a light, relaxing and casual atmosphere. Alex III features an array of exceptional home style recipes that caters to the entire family. From enticing appetizers and assorted soups and salads to mouthwatering barbecues and Japanese dinner combinations.

We ordered their best sellers Mixed boneless chicken and pork bbq P198, Boneless Chicken BBQ P135, Chicken BBQ 2 pcs P168, Dalandan juice P46 and Bottomless Ice Tea for P65. I love the food but the service is a little bit slow.

Burgoo

Last Sunday I had a dinner in Burgoo Morato with my friends Alex, Eejit, Jessie and Edmond. It has been a really long time since we last went out to dinner - hectic work and mismatched schedules. But we tried our very best to finally meet up last Sunday.

We chose Burgoo so that we can use our HSBC card and receive a free dish, Burgoo is an American bar and restaurant. We ordered Grilled Pork Tender Chops seasoned and grilled large for P325, Rawlins Classic is a combination of sausage, cajun chicken and baby prawns sauted with bell peppers and mushroom, served with bed of rice pilaf corn salsa large P295 and we got a Free Fish and Chips fresh cream dory with french fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce, Bottomless Ice Tea for 5 at P60 each. The food is so good! The service is great too. Bad thing is, rice being a main Filipino dish and not for the Americans…the extra rice we ordered seemed measly.

They also had those paper placemats, which we could draw on using crayons they provided. we wrote there: Happy Birthday Eejit, and later Your service is very good. Keep it up! The waiter showed the comment to the manager.
