Max Brenner at Greenbelt 3

Max Brenner, creating a new chocolate culture in the world, has been one of my favorite after dinner hangout. All male servers are bald. I guess this is a requirement, as their slogan is "chocolate from the bald man". I normally order Whipped Granitte for P158 which you can have in either dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate. My friend, Joseph ordered the Choco chino for P128. They also serve a complimentary water. Our total bill amounted to P488.

Sentro 1771

Traditional Filipino dishes with distinct style is what best describes Sentro.

We went to sentro to introduce my friend Joseph to Lisa. This is my third time to visit sentro and still remains to be one of my favorite restaurants. You need to make a prior reservation to be seated. If you plan to do just walk in, you'll need to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated as there are a lot of people also dining at this place during weekends. We ordered Fried Kesong Puti P190 for appetizer. This is a organic native cheese coated with bread crumbs and deep fried until golden brown dazzled with sweet chili guave sauce and served with garlic dip. For our main dish, we had a hearty soup called Corn Beef in Tamarind broth for P340, this is a corned beef short ribs and boneless shanks in tamarind broth with native vegetables. They even let you taste the broth first, for you to judge if it has just the right sour taste. Boneless Crispy Trotter for P390, Deboned crispy pata, Rated GG for P185 is a galunggong fillet fried in garlic oil and topped with brown garlic, Adobong Kangkong for P90 and Sentro Fried Rice for P110, good for 2-3 persons. Our total bill is P1769 for 4 persons.

Plato Platina

I was inviting the aunt of my fiance to dine with us at Plato Platina, I have ate at Plato Platina before and I find it very good. Unfortunately her aunt was not able to accompany us. Therefore I have to ate alone as my fiance is on a diet. Plato Platina is a cozy place to dine for 2 people, the ambience is good, there are paintings in the wall and wine on each table, the waiters are coureous. I ordered the following, for appetizer we had Mushroom Aglio, its a tiny mushroom Sauted in Italian Herb for P95. For main course we had the famous Paella Romana, ita a Paella Valencia with an Italian Twist, Saffrin rice with Tuna, Squid, Shrimp, Mussels, Chorizo, Hard Boiled Egg and Pesto for P350. I also had La Decisione, Tenderloin Beef and Fish poured with heavy sauce served with Mash Potato for P320. My drink was Ice Tea House blend and its bottomless for P80. Our total bill is around 929.50 with tax and service charge.

So far the food still taste great, but the paella already came in plate unlike before it comes in metal plates where the Paella rice is more crispy.

Sonya's Garden

We've been planning to visit Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay since December 2005. I had to cancel the first reservation with Sonyas Garden since I availed of Citibank Credit Card Bonus Point promo for a Sonya's Garden gift certificate good for 2.

Sonyas Garden is a very good place for a date since it has a beautiful garden and a lot of flowers around. It's like you are in a flower field. We arrived around 2pm and were very hungry. We were ushered to a table for 6 since most of the tables were still occupied. The chairs were kind of old and the table settings were like that of circa 60's. The first serving consists of Green Salads and you can add the following (mango, papaya, pineapple, melon, egg, cucumber, pop beans, home made dressings). All of these are refillable. They also serve Fresh dalandan juice in a pitcher. Then, home made bread with about 4 home made dips were served. For the main course, pasta with tomato or white sauce was served. We had a choice of Salmon as toppings. For desserts we had Turon and Sweet Kamote and Tarragon Tea. Since we were already full, we requested the desserts to be wrapped for take home. We ate for about 2 hours. Unfortunately we cannot stay longer as they were setting up the place for a birthday party later in the evening. The Total bill is P1100 or P550/head and we paid using gift certicate we got from City bank.

Afterwards we went to take a walk in their garden, and we also went to see Sonya's Bed and Breakfast Rooms :
- 10 cottages, 14 rooms
- Weekdays: P2,500 per person (free foot & back massage)
Weekends/ Holidays: P2,800 per person
* Package rates available for bigger groups
* Includes full breakfast with complimentary dinner or lunch
* Includes serenade (evening).
